Lebanon gets ready to break another Guinness World Record

After the small town of Ehden in north Lebanon broke the Guinness World Record for the largest Kebbe dish, Lebanon is set to attempt and hopefully break another world reord for the largest servings of hummus and tabouleh. As reported in The Daily Star article today the attempt will take place in the Saifi market in Downtown Beirut on October 24 and 25. According to the article, “the dishes are expected to stretch some 5,800 square kilometers. The two-day event will also see the participation of several Lebanese restaurants and artisans from the oil, souvenirs and craftsmanship industries, as well as a variety of entertainers, games and auctions.” It also mentions that the event is as part of a campaign to claim ownership of these traditional dishes.

If anything, this event will definitely show that the Lebanese can never have enough of their great food!
